Captain Moroni - Title of Liberty Coin

1 3/4" Diameter

Captain Moroni was the chief commander of the Nephite armies about 73 B.C.  Amalickiah was a wicked Nephite who wanted to be king and oppress the people in his land.  He convinced many people to follow him.  When Moroni learned of this plan, he became angry and tore off a piece of his coat "and wrote upon it -- In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children -- he fastened it upon the end of a pole" Alma 46:12.  He called this standard or flag, the title of liberty.  "Moroni placed a title of liberty on every tower in the Nephite land, and the Nephites again had peace." Alma 46:35-37.

Mormon wrote of Captain Moroni.  "If all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men" Alma 48:17.

What did Captain Moroni want his people to remember?  True freedom is a great blessing.  It comes by resisting evil and keeping Heavenly Father's commandments.  We have been sent at this time to defend truth and righteousness.

The title of liberty is still a symbol today of who we are and what we stand for.  By accepting this coin, now you stand with Captain Moroni as a defender of truth and liberty, as a true believer of Christ.
